Your happiness is truly in your own hands! Here are 10 things you need to start doing for yourself right now to be a better you!

1. Learn How to Say No

You cannot please everybody and it’s okay! Saying yes feels so much simpler, but is it really? Not everyone is worthy of getting a yes from you especially if they are never there for you when you need them. Simply doing the opposite does not make you a selfish person, it just makes you courteous to your own feelings. If you say yes all the time and really feel yourself not being invested in it then when it comes down to the end result you could come off rubbish or sometimes even flaky. When you release the power of no a weight will be lifted off of your shoulders.

2. Ask for It

Have you been on the job for years and still haven’t got the promotion you think you deserve? It’s time that you ask for it instead of waiting for it! You have to remember that asking for something you feel like you are entitled to is completely normal, but you must go at it with a smart approach. Practice your pitch and demonstrate your accomplishments before you make a move. Keep in mind that you need to go in their knowing that you deserve it rather than just needing it.

3. Seek Help

Your mental health is very important and needs to be in good condition for you to truly be happy. Whether it’s depression, suicidal thoughts, or any other mental illness that is bringing you down you must seek help now! So many people refuse to go this route because their pride won’t let them move on and some others feel like they can do it themselves. If you consistently feel yourself becoming unstable and unhappy then reaching out to a psychiatrist, friend, or loved one can truly save your life.

4. Put Your Passion to Work

Do not let your passion go to waste! Start jotting down ideas and brainstorming and turn your passion into a career or hobby. Studies have proven that when you are passionate about a certain thing that you will excel in it. Having a hard time finding out what your passion is? 5. Smile More

Did you know that smiling can trick your brain into happiness? We all have natural chemicals that can cause happiness! These chemicals are:

  • Oxytocin – Builds trust and intimacy.
  • Endorphins – Produced through levels of laughter.

7. Eliminate Negativity.

It’s time to do some serious cleaning up in your life and by that I mean it’s time to eliminate negativity and increase positive outcomes. There are certain people that are in your life that don’t even deserve a spot. There are also some things you just can’t let go of because you want to hold on to them for as long as you can knowing that it is not for you. That friend that is always putting you down to make herself look better, eliminate.  It’s time to be happy and reduce bad stress!

8. Walk Away

Having the last word and constantly arguing your point does not need to happen. Sometimes silence is the best medicine! Learn to walk away when you feel feelings of frustration taking over. It’s better to say nothing at all than saying very hurtful things that can’t be taken back. Once the damage is done…it’s done! Don’t let others take you out of your character to the point where you don’t even know who you are anymore. Walk away!

9. Drink More Water
